This was after rear ending the pickup when my throttle stuck wide open. When GM did their testing on the car after the accident they gave me the print out that stated I went from 120mph to 0mph in .1 seconds. Then they said it was my fault...go figure..and that I shouldn't have been going that fast. I should have SUED....I mean come on...if I had been going 120mph THERE WOULD BE MORE DAMAGE!!! Also the computer showed that the brakes were on the entire time. I made a left hand turn onto a street when the car automatically went to wide open throttle. I locked both feet onto the brakes and the car was spinning the tires with ease and slid around to the right with me turning the other way to keep from going all the way around. The car pushed me all the way to the light where thank God there was a RED light to stop me by hitting the stopped truck. This damage was to body only and no frame work was needed at all. Hood was cracked, rear of headlight shattered, headlight brackets were bent, pass fender was torn, and a pin hole put into the front bumper cover. Total damage estimated by GM, $5500. I took care of the costs and since there was no frame damage and just bolt on parts needed I fixed it myself without dealing with insurance. |
